Tsumami Zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft made from small, square-cut pieces of cloth (usually Chirimen) that is pinched and folded with tweezers. It originated about 200 years ago during the Edo period.

Tsurushi Bina or Tsurusi Kazari is a traditional Japanese art craft that is displayed around March during doll festival.
These ornaments have been part of traditional culture since the Edo period, and the custom is rooted in the Izu-Inatori region. During the Hina (Girls) Festival, parents prayed for their daughter's happiness through a thread taken from a piece of old clothing. It is this hina hanging ornament that swings from both sides of the tiered stand used for the presentation of the hina dolls.
This custom is also called 'sagemon' in some part of Japan.
People entrust their wishes to the ornament. Some 110 ornaments have separate meanings. For example, the red eyes of a rabbit are supposed to have the power of causing and curing diseases. A rabbit is said to be the servant of a deity.

What is Otedama doll
Otedama is a game played with are fabric beanbags (called ojami) which used to be sewn by grandmothers from silk kimono scraps. They are used for juggling games and skill games similar to jacks and knucklebones. They are an easy sewing project and makes a lovely game or gift idea, especially if you make a little drawstring bag in which to store them.
